Who could Leeds United bring in?

It is deadline day and time is quickly running out for clubs to make their moves for players.

Leeds United are one of the clubs which have left their business until the last minute, with signing a striker considered a priority.

They need back up for 20 goal hitman Chris Wood, as their FA Cup defeat to Sutton United highlighted.

Here are five players they could target…

Ashley Fletcher

West Ham teenager has been a Leeds target since the summer, and the Whites could finally get him on board.

This would depend on West Ham’s own transfer activity, largely whether the Hammers can bring in a striker, with Brentford’s Scott Hogan being their top target.

This one could be a loan deal for Leeds or permanent.

Robbie Keane

Robbie Keane is looking for one last challenge after his LA Galaxy contract expired, and firing former club Leeds into the Premier League should surely meet that criteria.

This is a deal Leeds could have beyond deadline day to seal as Keane is a free agent, but if other clubs step up their interest, Garry Monk might decide to act.

Jordan Rhodes

Despite being touted as a candidate to move down in the Championship, Jordan Rhodes currently remains a Middlesbrough player with no club meeting their asking price.

Leeds would not pay over the odds to sign the Scot, but if ‘Boro got desperate and decided to sanction Rhodes going on loan, it could work for the Whites.

The Sun have reported that play-off rivals Sheffield Wednesday are heading the hunt to sign Rhodes, could this prompt Leeds into making a move?

Omar Bogle

Freescoring Grimbsy forward Omar Bogle might just be worth Leeds taking a gamble on.

He has 19 goals already this season in League Two, and is a bright prospect at just 23-years-old.

SkySports report Leeds have made an initial enquiry, while Championship strugglers Rotherham have had a bid of £850,000 turned down.

Matty Taylor

Another prolific goalscorer from a lower division, Bristol Rovers ace Matty Taylor has continued his excellent form into League One this season.

The 26-year-old would not be daunted by stepping up a level once again, and Leeds are long term admirers.

The Mail report a clause in Taylor’s contract could see him available at just £300,000, making it likely that a Championship side could move before the deadline.
