Sheffield Wednesday have enjoyed another excellent season and look to be on course to reach the Championship play-offs once again after last year’s agonising defeat at Wembley.

While most of Carlos Carvalhal’s men deserve praise, here are five players that can be particularly pleased with their form this term…

Sam Hutchinson

The combative 27-year-old has been excellent for the Owls this season, having showcased just how versatile he is. It is difficult to say what his strongest position is, with Hutchinson looking impressive at both centre-back and in central midfield.

Fernando Forestieri

It has been another impressive season for Fernando Forestieri. The striker leads Wednesday’s goalscoring charts with nine strikes to his name in the league.

Kieran Lee

Kieran Lee has been one of the Championship’s most reliable performers over the last few years, and his consistency has been so valuable once again for Carvalhal’s men.

Keiren Westwood

Keiren Westwood remains one of the best goalkeepers in the division, often pulling off incredible saves at crucial times for the Owls. He nearly inspired them to promotion last season, and will be determined to inspire them to go one step further this year.

Ross Wallace

Only one player in the Wednesday squad has contributed more assists than the four that Wallace has managed this season. The winger has also provided three goals.
