Rangers have finally ended their long wait to get their hands on the Scottish Premiership title after Steven Gerrard’s side were presented with the trophy at Ibrox this afternoon.

A 4-0 win over the Pittodrie side saw the Gers round out a phenomenal campaign that sees them become only the second Rangers side in history to finish a top-flight campaign unbeaten – although they did fall short of the 100% record boasted by the 1898/99 champions.

As Gerrard and his players soak in the size of their accomplishment and the impact that it will have on Rangers fans around the world, it can’t be forgotten just how impressive the Gers have been at times this season.

While there will be areas Gerrard will no doubt want to improve on ahead of going for title number 56, the Rangers boss and his Ibrox invincibles have a host of other triumphs under their belt this season.

Here are some of the records Rangers sealed as Steven Gerrard’s side romped to the title for the first time in a decade.

Club/domestic Records

Gerrard’s side started the season with eight clean sheets in all competitions, falling just short of the world record of 10, but did go on and set several Scottish records in the process with the longest run of clean sheets to start a season in all competitions (8) as well the longest run of shutouts to start a top-flight season (7).

The Gers also recorded the biggest points margin over Celtic ever, finishing the season 25 points clear of their bitter rivals.

Just to cap it off, Rangers smashed through the 100 points barrier for the first time in a 38-game season, picking up 102 points from their 32 wins and six draws.

British Record

Rangers’ scarcely believable tally of 13 league goals conceded surpasses Chelsea’s previous British low for goals conceded in a 38-game top-flight season set under Jose Mourinho in 2005.

World Record

Winning a 55th domestic top-flight title restored Rangers as the world leaders after their decade without a title allowed others to close the gap, sitting one ahead of Northern Irish champions Linfield.
