QPR, Crystal Palace, Everton, Leicester and West Brom players all feature.
Nottingham Forest look set for an assault on the promotion places next season. They have been in great form in 2015 and must now start planning for next term.
But with money always tight, free transfers would be welcome.
So here are five Premier League players, whose contracts expire in the summer that Nottingham Forest might consider…
Bobby Zamora – QPR
Forest need a new striker with Britt Assombalonga out until 2016. Zamora may be no spring chicken, but he is a proven frontman in the Championship.
If he is let go by QPR, Forest would be wise to make a move.
Anthony Knockaert – Leicester City
Any Championship side would be happy to get this lad. He has struggled for Leicester in the Premier League, but a switch across the East Midlands would do him no harm.
Chris Baird – West Brom
Sometimes a utility man is just what you need. Holding midfield, full-back, centre-back. Baird will play where he is told to play. That in itself is sometimes a gift.
Antolin Alcaraz – Everton
With Jamaal Lascelles leaving the club in the summer a centre-back is certainly needed.
Alcaraz has had his struggled for Everton, but he is a regular for his country and has some prestige about him.
Would be a fine signing.
Damien Delaney – Crystal Palace
Or Freedman could stick to one he knows. Freedman signed Delaney for Crystal Palace, initially on a six month deal. Since then he has gone on to establish himself at the club.
He owes Freedman one, and a move to the City Ground is surely not a bad option.
