Southampton have plenty of valuable assets who could be moved on at the end of the season..

Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhüttl has a lot of work to do this summer, if he is to build a squad who are capable of making a sustained push for the top 10 next season, if they do in fact avoid relegation this term.
The problem for the Austrian is that he will probably not be given lavish funds in order to bolster his ranks sufficiently, as has so often been the case with the south coast club.
Hasenhüttl may instead have to sell before he can buy, and with that in mind, here are five Southampton players who could realistically be let go this summer…
Ryan Bertrand:
The 29-year-old is one of the Saints’ most prized assets, and according to the Mirror he was a transfer target for Manchester City last summer.
Southampton value the left-back at around £25 million, according to the Sun.
Estimated value: £25 million
Maya Yoshida:
The Japanese ace is out of contract in the summer of 2020, so Southampton might want to move him on at the end of the season, rather than risk losing him for nothing in 15 months time.
He was linked with a move to Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal last summer, and it would be no surprise to see those links resurface at the end of this season.
Estimated value: £3 million

Mario Lemina:
The 25-year-old joined the Saints in the summer of 2017 for £18 million, but he has already been linked with an exit from St Mary’s.
French media outlet Foot Mercato claimed that Tottenham wanted to sign the Gabon international last summer, and once again, those links will likely return before the start of next season.
Estimated value: £20 million
Charlie Austin:
The 29-year-old was heavily linked with an exit from Southampton in January, but he eventually remained at St Mary’s.
The Saints rejected a £7 million bd for the striker during the winter transfer window, according to Sky Sports, and should any improved bids come in this summer, he could very well be on his way.
Estimated value: £10 million

Shane Long:
The 32-year-old hitman has often frustrated Saints fans with his lack of goals, and a move away from Southampton could be on the cards this summer.
The Sheffield Star reported that Sheffield United were keen on signing Long, and should a bid come in in the summer, it would be no surprise to see him leave Southampton.
Estimated value: £3 million
