Liverpool may have no manager, but that has not stopped them being linked with bringing in new faces.
Here are the names who have been linked with switches to Anfield
The little known Algerian winger perked up Liverpool supporters’ interest this weekend when he stated Liverpool have been in touch about signing him. 22-year-old Boudebouz plays for French Lique One side Sochaux, and wears their number 10 shirt. He has scored six goals and provided five assists this season and plays on the right-wing. He could be snapped up for under £10 million. His talents include his crossing, dribbling, and taking set pieces, but he is also wanted by the larger French sides, including Lyon, Lille and Marseille.
If it was not for Kenny Dalglish leaving, Mohammed Diame could be a Liverpool player already. Whether that would be a good thing or bad thing will split supporters who may have their sights set higher. The Wigan midfielder is now a free agent, and is clearly talented, but is he ready for a step up to Liverpool? He would certainly be worth a punt on a free transfer. It appears now with Dalglish leaving, the chance may have been lost, with London clubs and Spanish side Malaga all showing interest, yet if former Wigan boss Roberto Martinez is installed as Liverpool boss, the deal could be rekindled.
Signings Ezequiel Lavezzi would be an amazing transfer coup for Liverpool, one to signal their ambition to return to the top. Lavezzi is currently at Napoli, who finished fifth in Serie A, and is one of Europe’s most in-demand stars. The Argentine is also interesting Chelsea, Manchester City and PSG, but rumours emanating from Italy say that Liverpool’s new manager will be given a large transfer pot of money with which to sign the star. The 27-year-old scored 12 goals this year and provided eight assists.
Milos Krasic has been linked with a move away from Juventus for what seems like an eternity, with Chelsea and Tottenham both linked in the past. Liverpool and Reading are the two latest clubs to be suggested, with the player said to be far keener on a switch to Anfield. A season long loan has been mooted, which would be a good proposition for Liverpool, a try-before-you-buy. Liverpool have loaned out Joe Cole and Alberto Aquilani this season so it would be nice to see them benefit from a loan arrangement for once. The 27-year-old Serbian made just four starts for Juventus this season, scoring one goal.
Liverpool have again been linked with Real Madrid bit-part player Hamit Altintop, this time by Talksport. However the radio station report that any deal would not be straightforward with Turkish side Galatasaray making their interest clear. Altintop was another like Diame who was a target of Dalglish, yet it is very much up in the air whether the former Bayern Munich midfielder will be on any new manager’s shopping list. The 29-year-old made 12 appearances for the Spanish champions last season, scoring one goal in a 6-2 demolition of Sevilla.
Which of these five would you like to see Liverpool’s next manager pursue?
