Who should Leeds let go next month?
Leeds are flying high, but who is expendable at the club in the January transfer window.
Here are five players Leeds should consider selling next month…
Leeds’ Luke Murphy and Brighton’s James Wilson
Luke Murphy
The central midfielder has not been in contention for first-team football at all under Garry Monk. Young players Ronaldo Vieira and Kalvin Phillips pushed him down the pecking order, as did the arrivals of Liam Bridcutt and Eunan O’Kane.
They could earn a decent fee for the player and clear his wages from the bill if they find a buyer.
Toumani Diagouraga
A favourite of former boss Steve Evans the Frenchman is not in Monk’s plans.
Leeds United could again get good money for the player if they can find an interested party.
Ross Turnbull
Ross Turnbull
The experienced goalkeeper is currently third-choice at Leeds and has no future at the club.
With Bailey-Peacock Farrell and Will Huffer coming through the ranks, Turnbull is expendable.
Matt Grimes
Not a sale as such, but Leeds should consider ending his loan spell.
He has struggled for form since joining from Swansea City and Leeds could bring in a better option or give Alex Mowatt more opportunities ahead of the 21-year-old.
Leeds’ Giuseppe Bellusci
Giuseppe Bellusci
The Italian is currently out on loan at Empoli. There is an option for a permanent deal in his spell and Leeds will want to make sure he is gone for good in January – as they look to conclude permanent deals for Kyle Bartley and Pontus Jansson.
