Sunderland are expected to be active in the summer transfer window, as Sam Allardyce aims to bolster his squad.

According to a report in the Chronicle, Sunderland are on the hunt for five new players during the summer transfer window.
Sam Allardyce wants to bolster every area of his Sunderland squad, as he aims to make the additions required to drive them away from the relegation zone.

The Black Cats have been battling against the drop for a number of seasons, but Allardyce is determined to keep his side comfortably away from danger.
To do so, Allardyce realises that he needs to make additions and he has targeted a number of players to add to his Sunderland squad.
The Black Cats are trying to sign a new right-back, an attacking midfielder and a striker.

Allardyce also reportedly wants to bring in a covering centre-back and a midfield player, if all goes to plan.
Sunderland have already been linked with a host of new players with the likes of DeAndre Yedlin and Edin Dzeko believed to be on the Wearsiders’ wishlist, but Allardyce is yet to make a signing this summer.
