Leeds United have surprised a lot of people this season with their performance in the Championship.

Leeds have arguably been one of the Championship’s surprise packages this season. With 13 games to go, they are currently fifth and look to be in with a brilliant chance of securing a play-off spot.

With that in mind, here are five Whites players who have been crucial to their success this season…

Chris Wood

The New Zealander continues to divide opinion among some fans, but based on the numbers alone, there is no doubt that Leeds have the lethal marksman they will need if they want to secure promotion. He has scored 19 times in the league.

Pablo Hernandez

Pablo Hernandez is clearly still capable of playing in the Premier League. Though he is not always able to make that great an impact, when he is on form, there is no doubt that he can be a magician. As well as his four league goals, he has also contributed seven assists.

Kyle Bartley

For years, Leeds have struggled to find one reliable centre-back, let alone two. However, Kyle Bartley’s form has been exceptional for most of the campaign, and it would not be a surprise if a large chunk of supporters were desperate to see the loanee’s move made permanent.

Ronaldo Vieira

Though Ronaldo Vieira does not always get it right, it must not be forgotten that he is just 18-years-old. His potential seems to be endless and the amount of first-team football he has enjoyed proves that.

Pontus Jansson

It has taken Pontus Jansson less than a season to become a cult-hero amongst the Elland Road faithful. His brilliant challenges, endless number of clearances and handful of goals are just some of the reasons why Leeds fans love him so much.
