Leeds United suffered a loss at Preston last season in the EFL Cup.

Leeds United visit Deepdale this evening in the Championship, a stadium where Marcelo Bielsa can already say he has had mixed results.
Last season his Leeds side lost and won there, losing 2-0 in the EFL Cup in September 2018, before winning in the league 2-0 this past April, with Patrick Bamford on target twice.
The cup game saw Leeds field an experimental XI, and five players from the team Bielsa fielded last September have now been moved on…
Jamal Blackman
This was one of Blackman’s only games in goal for Leeds, after signing on loan from Chelsea.
His Leeds career had a sorry end soon after, as he suffered a season ending ankle injury.
The 25-year-old is now out on loan at Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem.
Conor Shaughnessy
This was a terrible day for Conor Shaughnessy, with Marcelo Bielsa deciding to haul him off at half-time.
He was later sent on loan to Hearts in Scotland, and now he is out on loan for the season at League Two side Mansfield Town.

Pontus Jansson
Last year he was seen as the heartbeat of the Leeds side. Marcelo Bielsa had different ideas.
Jansson was a regular for Leeds last season before the manager controversially decided to sell him to Brentford in the summer.
Leeds have replaced him well, with loanee Ben White, and they appear no worse off.
Tom Pearce
At least Marcelo Bielsa gave Tom Pearce a chance. This was one of five games in which he featured under the Argentine.
Pearce was later loaned to Scunthorpe United, and this past summer he was sold to Wigan Athletic.
Lewis Baker
So much was expected from Chelsea loanee Lewis Baker, Marcelo Bielsa’s first signings at Leeds.
His poor performance in this game was a sign that the loan was unlikely to be successful.
Baker cost himself future starting opportunities, and his loan was cut short for him to join Reading.
He is now on loan again, this time in Germany at Fortuna Dusseldorf.
