The Whites enjoyed a busy window, but there is arguably still a feeling around Elland Road that more names need to be added to their squad.
While the summer window has only just closed, Leeds United boss Garry Monk arguably already needs to be instructing his scouts to look out for potential targets that they can go after in January.
With some sides reluctant to do business in the winter window, it may prove to be the ideal time for the Whites to swoop in and perhaps bolster their options without spending huge amounts of money.
And by beginning their scouting now, they can make a much more informed decision about those who may currently have question marks against their name.
The kind of players who will often have those question marks are prospects who appear to boast bags of potential and those plying their trade in a lower division.
With that in mind, here are five League One players who should already be on Leeds’ radar and should be watched closely in the coming months.
Matty Taylor (Bristol Rovers)

The 26-year-old has already been earmarked as a potential target by the Peacocks, but temporarily put any speculation to bed by signing a new deal at the Memorial Stadium this summer (via Bristol Post).
However, the Football League’s leading goalscorer last season has begun the new campaign well, scoring three in all competitions.
A continuation of that form will make it difficult for the Gas to keep hold of him in January – despite the new deal – and with Leeds needing more attacking depth, he could certainly be the answer.
Rico Henry (Walsall)

The Daily Mail claimed in July that Leeds had held talks with Walsall’s Rico Henry. However, the deal failed to materialise, perhaps due to the club digging their heels regarding Charlie Taylor’s future.
One year ago, the club were just as adamant about not losing Sam Byram – who, like Taylor this time around, had just one year left on his deal – but ended up letting him go in the January window when the writing was on the wall that a new deal was not going to be agreed.
Though Tyler Denton impressed on his debut, Leeds would still need more options at left-back if Taylor left, and Henry should arguably be the man they pursue.
Josh Morris (Scunthorpe United)
Like Henry, the Scunthorpe man can play on the left-hand side of defence. However, he has been making a major impact further forward this season.
The 24-year-old – who can also play at left-wing or in the centre of midfield – has scored six times in eight games in all competitions this term, including five in five in the league to currently be the leading goalscorer in League One.
While it is unlikely that he will still be at the top of the pile in January, the fact that he is contributing goals from midfield should certainly be attracting Monk’s attention, especially as Leeds have scored just five Championship goals between the entire squad so far.
Zach Clough (Bolton Wanderers)

The 21-year-old is capable of playing practically anywhere in an advanced position, including up front. His energy could be useful as it may create gaps for the likes of Chris Wood and Marcus Antonsson to exploit.
And he is more than capable of finding the back of the net himself, scoring 12 times in 39 league games for the Trotters.
He boasts some Championship experience, and if Bolton’s promotion bid falters somewhat over the winter, he may find himself tempted if presented with the opportunity to return to the second tier during the next window.
Bradley Dack (Gillingham)

The Gillingham man has already established himself as the talisman at the Priestfield Stadium.
The 22-year-old has already made 129 league appearances during his brief career, which would arguably make his arrival much less of a gamble as Monk and his staff would have a much better idea of what to expect from the attacking midfielder.
Dack boasts large amounts of creativity so would perhaps be the kind of player that would thrive working alongside Pablo Hernandez, and lining-up with him as part of the three that sit just off the striker.
