Everton are reportedly interested in signing the RB Leipzig hitman.
According to a report from Italian media outlet Calcio Mercato, Everton are lining up a summer swoop for RB Leipzig striker Yussuf Poulsen, but they should surely be setting their sights higher than the Dane.
The 24-year-old hitman was worryingly goal-shy in Germany last season, scoring just five goals in 41 appearances in all competitions for Leipzig, and it is hard to see where he would actually improve Everton’s setup.
Standing at 6ft 4in tall, the Denmark international is strong in the air, but aside from that, he doesn’t have many other outstanding facets to his game.

The Toffees are in need of a serious revamp under Marco Silva, and the attacking department will be an area where the Portuguese will surely be looking to improve.
Poulsen, though, is surely not the answer to Everton’s problems.
He is far from the quickest of strikers, and he isn’t the strongest, despite his size – something that should raise red flags for the Toffees, considering the jump up in intensity that a move from the Bundesliga to the Premier League entails.
The Dane is valued at £8.8 million, according to Transfer Markt, and although that seems like decent value in today’s day and age, the Merseyside outfit would surely be better off spending their money elsewhere.
Marco Silva should be looking to bring in a clinical striker with proven pedigree over a sustained period of time, and Poulsen certainly doesn’t fit into that category.
