The Welsh under-19 international scored five goals for his country this week.

Everton have a good reputation for developing young talent and one name who has been catching the eye this week is Nathan Broadhead.

The 18-year-old Welshman has been in fine form for his country this week. He scored two goals in a 3-2 win for the Welsh under-19 side against old rivals England in a Euro under-19 qualifier at the weekend and then added a hat-trick against Luxembourg in a 6-2 win on Tuesday. Five goals in a week, not bad from the teenager.

His form has caught the eye on Merseyside and the boy from Bangor is certainly looking like a player for the future at Everton.

He is being coached individually by former Everton prospect Francis Jeffers at Finch Farm, who is helping the all-round forward become more of a potent goalscorer – with seemingly good results.

Everton are not blessed with striking options. Romelu Lukaku is the number one but the likes of Enner Valencia and Arouna Kone hardly inspire confidence behind him.

Ronald Koeman will no doubt be keeping tabs on his young players at Goodison Park and after this week Broadhead will be at the top of his list.
