A look at Aston Villa players you may have not realise are still playing.
It has been a rough past decade for Aston Villa, and some players to feature at the club are more forgettable than others.
Some like Olof Mellberg have come and gone as fan favourites, others – not so much.
Here is a look at five former Aston Villa players who it may surprise you to learn are still playing – and yes, we resisted the temptation to include Gabby Agbonlahor in this list…
Eric Djemba-Djemba

Aston Villa hoped they could capitalise on Manchester United’s impatience in discarding the Cameroon international, but they quickly realised they had signed up a shell of a player.
He was sold by Villa in 2007, and has had a nomadic career since, playing in Qatar, Denmark, Israel, Serbia, India, and Scotland with St Mirren.
At 35 he is just about still playing, currently contracted to Swiss fifth division club FC Vallorbe-Ballaigues, after signing as a free agent last month.
Moustapha Salifou

Another terrible Aston Villa midfielder, Salifou barely featured during his four year spell at the club.
The former Togo international’s career is on the wane at 33, he currently plays for German sixth tier club Turkspor Augsburg.
Milan Baros

Baros was once tipped as Liverpool’s next breakthrough striker, and even finished Euro 2004 as top goalscorer for the Czech Republic.
His move to Aston Villa in 2005 was not a success, scoring 14 goals in two seasons, and he was sold to Lyon.
After a brief spell at Porstsmouth he has played in Turkey and in his homeland, and at 35 he is still going, leading the line for Slovan Liberec.
Carlos Cuellar

The Spaniard broke Rangers’ hearts when he left the club to sign with Aston Villa in 2008 after just a single season in which he became a fan favourite.
He spent four seasons at Villa Park, racking up 120 appearances.
After spells with Sunderland and Norwich City, Cuellar is now 35, and plays for Israeli club Maccabi Petah Tikva.
Tobias Mikaelsson

Once a very exciting Aston Villa youth prospect, Mikaelsson never made the breakthrough at the club.
His only appearances in English football came on loan at Port Vale, and he was released in 2009.
