If Kemar Roofe departs Leeds United then they may need to dip into the transfer market for a new player.

Andrea Petagna of Spal celebrates after scoring the 3-1 goal during the Serie A match between Udinese and SPAL at Friuli Stadium on May 18, 2019 in Udine, Italy.

It seems as though another Leeds United player could be heading for the exit door this summer, with Kemar Roofe’s name being touted for Anderlecht.

Marcelo Bielsa admitted that he ‘can’t be happy’ if one of his key players does leave England’s second tier for Belgium’s top-flight this summer, as quoted by BBC Sport.

But if Roofe does leave, could his replacement come in the form of Italian striker Andrea Petagna, whose name has been linked with the Yorkshire club.

Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb recently claimed that Leeds have offered around £13.7 million for the services of the 24-year-old SPAL forward.

Here we look at five facts on a player that could be replacing Roofe and playing a key role in their hunt to earn promotion back to the Premier League:

1. Petagna has played his whole career in Italy. From playing in their top-tier with his current club SPAL to coming through the youth ranks of AC Milan.

2. During his time with AC Milan, Petagna, who would have been a teenager then, played five games for the club, including in the Champions League, as he got the opportunity to play alongside some of the great names in the game such as Kaka.

3. During his career so far, Petagna has scored 50 goals in 201 games in all competitions, as he netted 16 in Serie A last term.

4. With SPAL, the powerhouse played with a familiar face known to many Leeds United supporters and that is their former striker, Mirco Antenucci.

5. Away from club football, Petagna has one international cap for Italy to his name – he represented his country during a friendly win against Holland in 2017 and he will no doubt want to add to his current sole cap.
