Leeds United have been linked with a move for defender Aapo Halme, with the Helsingin Sanomat reporting their interest.

Halme is a bright talent who is already a regular for Finnish side HJK Helsinki at just 19-years-old, but what else is there to know about him?

Here are five facts about Halme…

1) Halme stands out on the pitch due to his height. He is 6ft 8″ tall – which is an inch higher than former England striker Peter Crouch.

2) The 19-year-old has represented Finland at under-19 level four times, and has also been called into the under-21 squad.

3) Already he has racked up 51 first team appearances, which have included games played in the Europa League qualifying rounds.

4) Halme’s current contract at HJK runs until December 2018, meaning HJK Helsinki are near the point where they must cash in or get him to renew.

5) Halme has played alongside former Leeds defender Sebastian Sorsa at HJK, with the pair crossing paths in the 2016 season. Sorsa signed for Leeds in 2008 but couldn’t establish himself. He now plays for Kuopion Palloseura.
