Everton have been linked again to Kalidou Koulibaly.
Kalidou Koulibaly
Everton need a huge summer if they are to crack next season’s top four and convince star man Romelu Lukaku to stay at the club.
One big name addition recently linked is Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, with Italian newspaper Il Mattino reporting the Toffees interest.
Everton investor Farhad Mohsiri told the Liverpool Echo last year that the Toffees tried to sign him last summer, so a renewed attempt would make sense.
Kalibou Koulibaly in action for Napoli
Here are five facts about the potential Everton signing…
1) Kalidou Koulibaly is a centre-back who plays for Italian Serie A side Napoli, and has been at the club since signing from Belgian side Genk in 2014.
2) Despite playing for France at youth level, he plays his international football for Senegal, snubbing Didier Deschamps’ plea for him to commit to Les Bleus.
3) Tempting him away will not be cheap. Koulibaly is under contract at Napoli until 2021, and Chelsea failed in a big money move for him last summer with Napoli standing firm.

4) Koulibaly could bring vital European experience to Everton. He has made 32 Europa League appearances in his career to date, and 10 in the Champions League.
5) A former Liverpool boss is responsible for Koulibaly’s star turn at Napoli. It was current Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez who signed him from Genk in 2014 and convinced him to sign for the club.
