The summer transfer window may have slammed shut on Wednesday night, but the transfer rumours continue – and West Ham are being linked with a controversial move.

Intriguingly though, West Ham are being linked with a January move for another right back, with Sunday’s edition of The Sun claiming that Millwall’s Mahlon Romeo is a £2m target.
Relations between Millwall and West Ham are frayed to say the very least, and any potential move to the London Stadium would be hugely controversial on Romeo’s part.
Largely unknown outside of League One, West Ham fans may not be too familiar with their newest alleged transfer target – here are five facts on right back Romeo.

1. Romeo came up through the ranks at Arsenal, but failed to make the grade with the Gunners, and moved on to Gillingham in 2012.
2. The right back made just one appearance for the Gills, and that came on the final day of the 2013 season – but he did feature on loan for Dover Athletic earlier in the 2013 campaign.
3. Now 20, Romeo has become a regular for Millwall since signing for the Lions in last summer, making 18 appearances last season and eight so far this term.

4. Despite his youth, Romeo is already an international defender. He may have been born in England, but Romeo has six caps for Antigua and Barbuda having committed his allegiance to the Caribbean nation.
5. A piece of trivia surrounding Romeo is that his father is ‘Jazzie B’, a famous music producer and founding member of Soul II Soul.
