West Ham have been linked with the Leganes midfielder.

As they look to avoid relegation, West Ham United will surely be active in the transfer market next month.
One player who has been linked with a move to the club is Gabriel Pires, with West Ham interested in signing the Leganes midfielder either permanently or on loan, as reported by AS.
West Ham are willing to sign Gabriel on loan for an initial fee of £1.7 million, with an option to buy for £8 million, while alternatively they are prepared to pay £5 million to sign him outright, even though the player’s buyout clause is considerably higher at £17.8 million.
Here are five facts about Gabriel:
1) The Brazilian was at Juventus between 2011 and 2016 but didn’t make a single senior appearance for the club, instead being sent out on loan on several occasions.

2) Following five loan spells at other clubs, Gabriel made a major impact for Leganes in the 2015/16 season as he scored eight league goals, which earned him a permanent move.
3) This season Gabriel has been especially impressive in La Liga, with his highlight coming in the 3-1 victory at home to Villarreal earlier this month, when he scored and provided an assist.
4) The 24-year-old is excellent technically and is also very effective in the air.

5) Pires is a very versatile player. Although he is mainly deployed as a central midfielder, during his time at Leganes he has played as a defensive midfielder, an attacking midfielder, on either flank and up front.
