The Bologna left-back has been linked with a move to West Ham United.
It has been a quiet transfer window for West Ham United so far, but that could soon be about to change.
West Ham are interested in signing defender Adam Masina from Bologna, as reported by Gianluca Di Marzio.
The left-back has been a regular for Bologna in Serie A this season and has earned plaudits despite his side currently being in mid-table as he has performed consistently.
Here are five facts about Masina.
1) Although he was born in Morocco, Masina represented Italy at U21 level, winning six caps. He has, however, yet to receive a senior call-up.
2) Masina is a product of Bologna’s youth system and has spent his entire career to date at the club save for a loan spell with Giacomense between 2011 and 2013.
3) The 24-year-old relishes pushes forward from left-back and possesses excellent technique.
4) Masina was named the Serie B footballer of the year for 2015.
5) Although he has mainly been used as a left-back for Bologna, he has occasionally featured as a left wing-back, suggesting that he could fit in well in West Ham’s current system.
