Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly joining the race for Hamburg striker Jann-Fiete Arp.

According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in snapping up Hamburg striker Jann-Fiete Arp amid interest from a host of other clubs.

Tottenham swooped to sign one new striker on deadline day in August, landing veteran hitman Fernando Llorente from Swansea City as cover and competition for Harry Kane.

Yet with Llorente into his 30’s and Vincent Janssen seemingly having no future in North London, Spurs may look to bring in a younger forward to develop behind Kane.

Now, it’s believed that Mauricio Pochettino’s men have set their sights on Hamburg teenager Jann-Fiete Arp, as they prepare to battle Arsenal, Chelsea and Juventus for his signature.

Arp may not be a familiar name for many Spurs fans, so here are five facts about Tottenham’s latest exciting transfer target…

1. Arp, 17, was born in Bad Segeberg just outside of Hamburg, and joined the Bundesliga side at the age of just 10, before making his way up through the ranks at the Imtech Arena.

2. The striker now has a remarkable record for Germany at Under-18 level, having hit 18 goals in 19 games, including seven goals at the 2017 Under-17 European Championships, and five goals at the Under-17 World Cup.

3. Last month, Arp scored his first goal for Hamburg, scoring as a substitute against Hertha Berlin, before making his first start last Saturday, playing a starring role as he scored again in the 3-1 win over Stuttgart.

4. Bundesliga.com recently claimed that, rather than looking up to Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo, Arp’s idol is actually Tottenham striker Harry Kane, as he feels they have a similar style of play – and Spurs may just hope that his adoration of Kane helps them win the race.

5. Arp signed a new contract with Hamburg over the summer, meaning he is tied to the German outfit until 2019 – and Spurs may have to pay up if they want to land one of Europe’s top young strikers.
