Is this a deal Celtic fans should be excited about?

Here are five facts about the potential Bhoy to help inform your opinion…

1) Shved is a winger who plays for Ukrainian side Karpaty Lviv. He has been in prolific form this season, scoring eight goals in 17 games, providing three assists for the top flight club.

2) The 21-year-old spent the last two seasons at Sevilla, featuring for their B side and he under-19s. He scored in an under-19s UEFA Youth League game against Juventus.

3) Shved’s form has seen him called up by manager Andriy Shevchenko into Ukraine’s national team. He made his debut this past November against Turkey.

4) Former Karpaty Lviv player Igor Jovicevic has hailed his qualities. He told Estadio Deportivo: “He’s brilliant in the one-on-one, he has the quality to give the last pass, a good shot, and for his age, a very strong mentality.” Physically, in addition, he is very hard to knock down, he has a lot of potential.”

5) Shved’s performances this season have understandably attracted attention. Turkish outlet Fotomac report Fenerbahce are keen to do a deal.

Celtic supporters may want bigger, more proven players. Shved is not there yet, but he does fit with the club’s recent trend of signing cheap young players with high potential.

The Scottish Sun‘s report claim Shved could be available at just £2 million.

While defence is more of priority, Celtic should strongly consider taking a gamble on the youngster.
