Spurs have confirmed the signing of the young Brazilian defender. What can we tell you about him?
Sky Sports have reported that the club have secured the player on a three month loan with a view to a £3.1 million move in the summer.
1) Full name Bruno Uvini Bortalanca, he is 20 years old.
2) Tottenham have signed him from Sao Paolo, for who he has made just seven first team appearances.
3) Uvini is the captain of the Brazilian under-20 side which won the U-20 World Cup in Colombia in August, but he has an Italian passport, meaning there are no work permit issues to be negotiated.
4) His dad, Bruno ‘Tuca’ Uvini was also a professional footballer, playing for Brazilian side Ponte Preta and set up his own football coaching academy, where his son honed his talent from a young age.
5) He is a centre-back, and will not be eligible to play for Tottenham’s first team between now and the end of the season because the transfer window is closed, but the loan means he can adapt to the English lifestyle and culture, and impress playing for the reserves.
