Steven Whittaker has signed for Chris Hughton’s side after leaving crisis club Rangers.
What can we tell you about him?
1) Whittaker is 28-years-old and made 24 SPL starts last season, scoring twice.
2) He is a right-back, and this will be his first spell in England, before signing with in 2007 Rangers his only previous club was Hibernian.
3) He is a full Scottish international, with 15 caps to his name, after making his debut in 2009.
4) Whittaker has UEFA Cup and Champions League experience, and the highest number of goals he has scored in a season came in 2009-10, when he scored 11 times.
5) His transfer was prompted after he lodged an official complaint against his contract being registered to the new ‘Rangers’ company set up by Charles Green. By objecting to the move, he was entitled to become a free agent.
