Leeds United have signed promising teenager Sam Dalby from Leyton Orient, the club confirmed via their official website.

But who is he? Here are five facts about the highly rated forward…

1) Dalby is an 18-year-old striker and has a gangly build, standing at 6 foot 2″ – and made his debut for Orient at just 16.

2) This season he has played just two games for non-league Orient, but last season managed 17 appearances in League Two, mostly as a substitute, scoring once and providing three assists.

3) Premier League side Crystal Palace could end up kicking themselves if Dalby is a success. The East London Advertiser reported that the youngster had a trial with the Eagles last summer.

4) Dalby was named in the League Football Education (LFE)’s ‘The 11’ list in 2017, acknowledging young prospects for contribution on and off the pitch. Former Leeds midfielder Lewis Cook was named in the 2015 list.

5) The Mirror named Sam Dalby in their list of 11 players in the Premier League and Football League to watch in 2018, in an article published earlier this month.
