Yesterday was a significant day for Leeds United, as they signed four new players.
They included Jamie Ashdown, Andy Gray, and Luke Varney, all players with Football League and Premier League experience who will add nous and depth to Neil Warnock’s side.
The fourth man is Rodolph Austin, a man less familiar to supporters, in a deal worth around £300,000.
What can we tell you about him?
1) Austin is a midfielder who signs from Norwegian side SK Brann, for who he has played at since 2009.
2) It is second time lucky for Neil Warnock, who attempted unsuccessfully to sign him for QPR in 2011.
3) He is 27, and a full Jamaican international and has also 50 caps for the Caribbean country.
4) Austin is a former teammate of Leeds veteran Eirik Bakke, and says the Norwegian persuaded him to sign on at Elland Road.
5) He can certainly play, but he can rap a bit too. Austin featured in Brann’s Norwegian Cup final song, a remake of World In Motion by New Order, and performed John Barnes’ memorable rap.
His move is subject to a work permit, but Leeds fans can view the player who expects to be playing for them next season below…
Will Austin be a good signing for Leeds?
