Fulham have landed the out of contract former Real Madrid midfielder and one time Manchester United target. What can we tell you about him?
1) Diarra is a Malian international, a defensive midfielder who has played in the Champions League and is aged 30.
2) He most recently played for French side Monaco, making nine appearances before the club were relegated last summer. He has been without a club since.
3) Diarra was part of a title-winning Lyon side in the early part of the last decade, playing alongside Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien.
4) He signed for Real Madrid for £22 million in 2006, beating Manchester United in the race for his signature. The boss who signed him? Fabio Capello.
5) At Madrid he won two La Liga titles to add to the four he won at Lyon. A knee injury suffered on international duty forced him out of the side and he was given a bit-part role only under Jose Mourinho.
