Apart from signing Kevin de Bruyne, Chelsea also wrapped up a deal for teenager Patrick Bamford on deadline day.

What do we know about the youngster? Where did he come from and how close is he to first team football?

1) Bamford is an 18-year-old striker who Nottingham Forest desperately did not want to lose- but as he was out of contract in the summer the club were left with little option but to accept a £1.5 million bid.

2) His recent strike-rate is astounding, in January he scored five goals and provided three assists in a 9-1 win for Nottingham Forest’s youth side against Wigan. The following week he scored four in one game against Southampton’s youth team.

3) He was pushing for a place in the Nottingham Forest first team, and made his debut at the end of December coming on as a substitute for Matt Derbyshire but has played just 12 minutes of first team football.

4) He attended the same prestigious Nottingham school as politician Ken Clarke and author DH Lawrence.

5) He made his debut for England under-18s two years ago, having previously represented the Republic of Ireland at the same age group. He will have to make a decision over which senior side he chooses to represent.

Do you think Bamford could feature in the first team by the end of the season? Will he prove better value than Torres?
