Birmingham City have signed Peter Lovenkrands from Newcastle United.

What can we tell you about him?

1) Lovenkrands is 32-years-old and is a former Danish international, but has not been capped for his country since 2009.

2) His best performances for Newcastle came in the Championship in the 2009-10 season when he scored 16 goals in 32 appearances.

3) The forward made his name north of the border with Rangers, where he enjoyed six seasons, winning two league titles and four domestic cup trophies, before leaving for German club Schalke.

4) Teams he has scored against include Inter Milan, Porto, and Manchester United – when he ended Edwin van der Sar’s record 1,311 minute record run without conceding a goal.

5) Three months ago he started a charity appeal to support the UK Alzehimer’s Society, after losing his father to the disease two years earlier. He offered items including a signed Papiss Cisse shirt to his Twitter followers if they pledged £5 towards the charity.
