Aston Villa have clinched the signing of El Ahmadi on a three-year-deal.
What can we tell you about him?
1) El Ahmadi was born in Holland but has Moroccan roots and plays internationally for the North African country, with 17 caps to date.
2) He is a defensive midfielder, who is 27-years-old. He made 20 appearances for Feyenoord last season, scoring twice.
3) He has Champions League experience, gained with FC Twente, and cost Villa just over £2 million as he had just one year left to run on his contract.
4) In the 2010-11 season he was loaned to Middle Eastern side Al Ahli after falling out with Feyenoord manager Mario Been, but described the league as not competitive enough for his liking, and came back into favour at De Kuip when Ronald Koeman was appointed in Been’s place.
5) The midfielder is a tough tackler, picking up eight yellow cards in 20 games last season, and should relish playing in the Premier League.
