Everton are reportedly keen on signing Rafael Leao.

Everton have endured an underwhelming campaign under Marco Silva, and that may force Marcel Brands to dip back into the transfer market this summer.

Whilst Dominic Calvert-Lewin has fared well in attack of late, a new striker is a must for Everton this summer, with Cenk Tosun proving that he isn’t the answer in attack.

Now, the Daily Mail claim that Brands has a new target in mind, as he wants to bring Lille forward Rafael Leao to Goodison Park this summer.

Some fans may not be too familiar with Leao, so here are five facts about the young attacker…

1. Leao, 19, joined the Sporting Lisbon ranks in 2008, but made just three league appearances for the Portuguese giants, scoring once.

2. Whilst touted as a future star for Sporting, Leao chose to leave over the summer, rescinding his contract after Sporting fans attacked players and staff during training.

3. Despite links to huge clubs, Leao chose a move to Lille last summer, and has excelled this term with seven goals and two assists in 19 games.

4. Many are back Leao for stardom with Portugal on the international stage, but he’s yet to earn a senior cap, and is currently goalless in five games for their Under-21’s.

5. Leao is a dangerous forward with real pace to get in behind defences, and he has been likened to Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe for that very reason – which is no doubt exciting to Everton fans.
