Leeds United are reportedly keen on Real Vallavolid’s Toni Villa.
Leeds United secured their first January signing last week, snapping up Real Madrid goalkeeper Kiko Casilla in an impressive move by Victor Orta.
The Whites may still look for more additions this month, with a creative midfielder potentially wanted after Lewis Baker and Samu Saiz departed Elland Road this month.
Pucela Fichajes now report that Leeds want Real Valladolid playmaker Toni Villa, who has a €12million (£10.6million) release clause in his contract.
For any fans that aren’t too familiar with Villa, here are five things to know about the Spaniard…
1. Villa, 24, was in the Valladolid ranks as a youth, but moved on to Cultural Leonesa in 2016 – a club that Leeds have links to, intriguingly.
2. Villa hit five goals in 36 games for Leonesa before heading back to Valladolid in 2017, completing a shock return to his first club.
3. The playmaker played a key role in helping Valladolid win promotion to La Liga last season, notching two goals and two assists – the same record he has this season.
4. Villa has impressed so much for Valladolid that Barcelona wanted to sign him earlier this season, as reported by Marca, meaning Leeds may face a battle for his signature.
5. A player with more skill than pace, Villa is a technically-gifted, creative player who would fit in Saiz’s role, or could play on either flank under Marcelo Bielsa.
