Leeds United could be in the market for another forward this month to aid their promotion push – and a new name has been linked.

The Whites sit top of the Championship table by four points, but may just need that extra spark of firepower to get over the line and back into the Premier League.

Kemar Roofe has been in blistering form, but Tyler Roberts is inexperienced, though Patrick Bamford does offer another goal threat since his return from injury.

TEAMtalk now report that Leeds want Columbus Crew forward Gyasi Zardes, but for any fans that aren’t too familiar with the attacker, here are five facts about him…

1. Zardes was born in California attended LA Galaxy matches as a kid before eventually signing for the club, scoring 40 goals in 154 games for the club.

2. Zardes hit 20 goals last season for Columbus Crew, whilst he is also a United States international with six goals in 40 caps.

3. In something that may not go down too well at Elland Road, Zardes confirmed to COPA 90 back in 2017 that he is a Manchester United fan, of course a big rival of Leeds.

4. Another thing Zardes revealed in that interview is the reason for his striking blonde hair; it’s so that he his grandparents can spot him playing when watching him in action.

5. Zardes was backed by Lionel Messi in the 2015 ‘Backed by Messi’ campaign with Adidas. Messi endorsed the players with boots and YouTube videos, and Zardes featured alongside James Wilson, Kenedy and Timo Werner amongst others.
