Everton need a new striker this summer after an underwhelming first season under Marco Silva, and Marcel Brands is seemingly looking all over for a new goalscorer.

The Toffees have seen Dominic Calvert-Lewin impress lately, but Cenk Tosun isn’t the answer in attack, and a goalscorer will surely be signed this summer.

Now, The Sun on Sunday (24/3; page 59) report that Everton want Birmingham City striker Che Adams, with scouts dispatched to watch him in action for the Championship club of late.

Some may not be too familiar with Adams, so here are five facts about the striker Everton could bring to Goodison Park this summer…

1. Adams, 22, had been on the books at Coventry City as a youngster, but didn’t make the grade with the Sky Blues and had to drop into non-league football.

2. After a stint with Oadby Town, Adams really made a name for himself with Ilkeston, and quickly got himself a move to Sheffield United.

3. Adams not only hit 15 goals in 55 games for Sheffield United, but also picked up two caps for England’s Under-20’s during his time with the Blades.

4. Since joining Birmingham, Adams has become a fan favourite at St Andrews, smashing 21 goals this season, and almost equalled a club record of seven consecutive games with a goal earlier this year.

5. Incredibly, Everton are actually part of Adams’ name. The exciting striker’s full name is Che Zach Everton Fred Adams, and Toffees fans would no doubt love to bring in a player who literally has the club in his name.
