Comparisons with Brazilian compatriot Kaka give Piazon quite a billing to live up to. What can we tell you about him?
The starlet even looks like Kaka, but has been keen to play down comparisons….
1) Piazon has been on Chelsea’s books since March, but a work permit has only permitted him to join up with the first team from this year.
2) He is 18 and was signed from Sao Paolo for £5 million, which could rise to £10 million eventually. He can play anywhere across the forward line, as a striker, winger, or as a playmaker from deep.
3) Piazon has already said he feels at home at Chelsea, joking that fellow Brazilian David Luiz is his best friend.
4) Already he has been a key player in Chelsea’s FA Youth Cup side, scoring against Nottingham Forest, and Doncaster, to take them to the semi-finals.
5) Villas-Boas says he has high hopes for him, and included him as a substitute against Swansea and Manchester United, so he could feature in the first team between now and the end of the season.
