The latest player to be taken on trial is Nigerian forward Chinedu Obasi.
His contract at Swedish club AIK is currently winding down.
Obasi featured in an under-23 game last night, coming off the bench to score the winner against Burnley.
So who is the potential signing?
Here are five facts about Chinedu Obasi…
1) Obasi is no under-23. He is 31-years-old and has played for five different clubs in Norway, Sweden, Germany, and China, where he played under Sven Goran Erikssen.
2) He came close to playing in England as a teenager. BILD reported Tottenham, Wigan and Portsmouth all wanted to sign him, but he could not get a work permit. He also had an unsuccessful trial with Sunderland in 2015.
3) Obasi has 18 caps for Nigeria and played at the 2010 World Cup but has not represented his country since 2011.
4) He was once best known for being a top talent on Football Manager games circa 2009. This came after the best season of his career with Hoffenheim where he struck 12 goals.
5) Obasi has more experience in the Champions League than Championship. He scored for Schalke in the competition in 2014 against Sporting and also took on Chelsea.
