Fans will hope Adam Morgan be given a chance in Liverpool’s first team soon, so far he has done everything right at youth level.

Better than Andy Carroll? Time will tell. The youngster has been compared to a young Robbie Fowler. Here are five facts about him.

1) Adam Morgan is 17, and turns 18 this April, and hopes to follow Michael Owen on being fast tracked into the first team.

2) He is a striker who has a very impressive goals record, scoring 21 goals last season at youth level, ending as the team’s top scorer.

3) Morgan has represented England at youth level, going to the Under-17 World Cup last summer and has also been capped at under-19 level.

4) He has again been in prolific form this season, scoring seven times in his last eight games, including a brace in a 5-2 win against Sunderland’s academy side on Saturday.

5) Born on Merseyside, Morgan says he grew up ‘hero worshipping’ Robbie Fowler, a former Liverpool striker his own goalscoring exploits have seen him compared to. He has a penchant for a memorable goal celebration too, when he scored against Manchester United in last year’s FA Youth Cup he held up five fingers, to remind United fans about the club’s five Champions League trophies.
