Luke Shaw has fallen out of favour at Old Trafford with suggestions Manchester United are ready to listen to offers. The likes of Everton, Tottenham and Newcastle should all be following the situation.

Manchester United are ready to offload Luke Shaw according to the Daily Express.

The left-back has featured just twice this season, playing a total of 48 minutes in the Carabao Cup against Burton Albion and Swansea City. He has been left out of United’s Premier League squad on numerous occasions by Jose Mourinho who now looks ready to cash in on the 22-year-old.

Shaw was tipped to be England and United’s star left back but thing haven’t worked out for him at Old Trafford since his £27m move in 2014. A horrific double leg fracture in 2015 was the pivotal turning point but a fractured relationship with Mourinho means Shaw may need a move to rediscover his best form.

Here are five potential clubs he has been linked with and where he could potentially return to his best:

Tottenham Hotspur

Shaw played his best football under Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino between 2013-2014. Tottenham were linked with a move for the England international back in the summer in a deal which could see Danny Rose go the other way as the Manchester Evening News reported in the summer, and that would obviously benefit Shaw. Pochettino knows how to get the best out of him and has a good relationship with young English players. Shaw will get the games he needs under Pochettino and will get the arm around the shoulder he craves rather than the tough love from Mourinho.

Newcastle United

Rafael Benitez has also been linked with a move for Shaw. Newcastle are currently up for sale and should a takeover happen in time, they’ll have the funds to make a bid for the United defender.

Shaw would certainly be an upgrade on Javier Manquillo and Paul Dummett who have played at left-back for Newcastle this season so Shaw will certainly plenty of minutes at St James’ Park under a coach who’ll be good for him given how good Benitez sides usually are defensively.

Southampton

A return to Southampton could be of interest for Shaw. It’s a club he’s obviously familiar with and would be welcomed back by open arms by the fans. He’ll feel a lot more settled and at home again, given that he is a southern lad.

The only downside is that Ryan Bertrand is there and he will take some budging if Shaw is to take the left-back shirt from him, however the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City are reportedly interested in the 28-year-old (The Star) so should Bertrand move that would free up the position.

Everton

Leighton Baines is coming toward the end of his career. He’s now 32 but has no competition for his position at Goodison Park.

Shaw going to Everton would certainly give Baines that. Everton too are giving young English players opportunities this season and given Baines’ age, Shaw would get a considerable amount of game time. The only negative at the moment is the Toffees haven’t named a permanent manager although that should be different by the time January roles around.

Fenerbahce

Moving abroad is something English players seem to be reluctant to do but the Daily Mail report that Turkish Club Fenrbahce are keen on signing the left back.

It may not be where he sees his long term future but it could be a club which Shaw could use as a springboard. Fenerbahce have signed the likes of Roberto Soldado, Vincent Janssen and Shaw’s former United team-mate Robin van Persie – all players who are there to rediscover their form after poor seasons.
