Five Cherries whose displays have stood out this campaign.
Eddie Howe has got the best out of players who have spent most of their careers in the lower leagues
As Eddie Howe’s side continue to punch above their weight, here’s a look at five players in particular who have shone.
Josh King
Playing in a variety of attacking positions, King is enjoying the best season of his young career and has been rightly keeping the club’s record signing, Jordon Ibe, out of the side.
Harry Arter
Arter leads the squad in a number of key statistics including pass completion rate and tackles, demonstrating what he contributes both with and without the ball.
He’s the team’s driving force and can really dictate a game when on song, which he has been for much of the season.
Harry After has also established himself in the Republic of Ireland squad
Andrew Surman
Sitting alongside Arter, Surman has similarly impressed this campaign with his efficient if not flashy performances and makes more interceptions per game than any other Bournemouth player.
The pair provide a vital service in winning the ball back and setting up the team’s more creative players to express themselves.
Nathan Ake
Nathan Ake celebrates scoring against rivals Southampton
Ake was the Cherries’ best defender and it’s no coincidence that in the five games since he returned to Chelsea they’ve shipped 15 goals.
An asset at both ends, he’s being sorely missed.
Ryan Fraser
After being brought in from the cold, Fraser’s shone and proved a real game-changer, most notably when his introduction sparked the incredible comeback against Liverpool.
With pace and persistence he’s a nightmare for defenders.
