Arsene Wenger may be looking to offload certain players of his present Arsenal squad in the summer. Here are five players most at risk of leaving the club.

Per Mertesacker

The German defender has a contract at the club till June 2018, according to transfermarkt.com, but Arsenal could let him go after the end of the 2016-17 season.

The 32-year-old is yet to play a single game since returning from injury in January, and must be wondering how bad the situation needs to be before Arsene Wenger puts him on the pitch.

If the club captain doesn’t get a game during the club’s worst run of form in years then surely serious questions need to be asked about his importance in the side.

Carl Jenkinson

The England defender has been on the books of Arsenal since 2011, but has never really cemented his position in the first team.

The 25-year-old has made just one league appearance this season, and surely his career at the Emirates is as good as over.

Mathieu Debuchy

Debuchy joined the Gunners from Newcastle United in 2014, but hasn’t really made a huge impression.

He made just eight appearances in his last two seasons, and has dropped down the pecking order at the club.

The 31-year-old Frenchman has been left out in the cold since suffering a hamstring injury in November, and it is highly likely he will be sold in the summer.

Calum Chambers

According to reports from The Mirror, a host of Premier League cubs are seemingly interested in signing Calum Chambers.

The versatile defender can play as a full-back, centre-half or as a holding midfielder and has impressed during his time at Middlesbrough.

Newcastle, Everton and West Ham are reportedly keen to sign him and are ready to pay £10m for the 22-year-old.

Chambers is a decent player but probably not good enough to represent Arsenal week in week out. The club should take the money from the highest bidder and let the defender leave.

Alexis Sanchez

Arguably Arsenal’s player of the season could be leaving the club in the summer, especially if the Gunners finish outside the top four.

Arsenal will not allow him to join a rival club but the Gunners would probably cash in on him if they receive good offers from foreign clubs.
