The former Chelsea striker has noted that Spence, who spent the past season on loan at Nottingham Forest from Middlesbrough, plays as a wing-back, which is what Tottenham head coach Conte wants.
TalkSPORT journalist Alex Crook has said on talkSPORT (9:38am, June 11, 2022) that Tottenham have virtually agreed a deal for the 21-year-old full-bark, with The Daily Mail reporting that Spurs will finalise the £20 million transfer this week.
Cascarino said on talkSPORT (9:40am, June 11, 2022): “He really does know what he wants, Antonio Conte.
“Everybody fits into his style, and Djed Spence, he likes to play in that position being a wing-back more than a full-back.”

Djed Spence would make Tottenham Hotspur better
In our view, Djed Spence would be a good signing for Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window, especially for £20 million.
We saw this past season just how good Spence is.
The Middlesbrough player can play as a right-back, wing-back or winger.
The England Under-21 international made 41 starts and one substitute appearance in the Championship for Forest this past season.
Spence scored two goals and gave four assists in those games.
Forest won promotion to the Premier League.
Conte is a very good manager who would make Spence better.
Let’s not forget that Spence is only 21, and he could be a star for Tottenham in the future.
