Rangers picked up a 2-1 victory over Partick Thistle this afternoon.

Rangers performed a remarkable fightback to beat Partick Thistle 2-1 at Firhill Stadium this afternoon, but not everybody impressed.

The Gers made the short trip to take on Glaswegian neighbours Partick earlier today, and fell behind inside the first quarter of an hour as Kris Doolan headed the hosts in front.

Rangers were lacklustre and disjointed throughout, but did hit back when Barrie McKay tucked away an equaliser with just seven minutes to play – and it got even better for Pedro Caixinha’s men.

Joe Garner rose highest in injury time to give Rangers a dramatic late winner, and seal a shock fightback to secure Europa League football.

However, it was another disappointing performance on the whole from Rangers, and one player who struggled to make an impact was attacker Martyn Waghorn.

The 27-year-old hit 28 goals in 36 games last season, but has failed to replicate that scoring form this term, scoring just six league goals in 29 outings – and yet still the Daily Mail claim that Leeds United and Sunderland are interested in signing Waghorn this summer.

Waghorn failed to impress against Partick Thistle and was even substituted in favour of defender Clint Hill after 53 minutes, prompting criticism from fans on Twitter during and after the game.

Many feel that Waghorn shouldn’t even play for Rangers again and should be sold this summer, with one fan even claiming that Rangers would be better off with a traffic cone up front, with the consensus now that Waghorn simply isn’t good enough for the Gers.
