Conor Bradley will become the first Northern Irish player in 67 years to represent Premier League giants Liverpool should he feature during tonight’s EFL Cup clash with Norwich City, according to the Belfast Telegraph.
A lot has changed since Sammy Smyth played his last game in that iconic red shirt in 1954.
Doris Day, Frank Sinatra, Perry Como and Vera Lynn were dominating the charts while Liverpool supporters were mopping tears from their eyes after finishing bottom of the First Division behind the likes of Portsmouth, Preston, Blackpool and Huddersfield Town.
Things are going rather better these days for the men from Merseyside and, should 18-year-old Bradley feature under Jurgen Klopp for the first time, he could find himself sharing a pitch with Champions League winners Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Divock Origi and Joe Gomez.
Can Conor Bradley make history for Liverpool?
16-year-old sensation Kaide Gordon will be included at Carrow Road after wowing Liverpool coaches with his fabulous finishing skills. However, the former Derby County wonder kid is unlikely to be the only teenager taking to the field in East Anglia (The Guardian).

Bradley, a versatile 18-year-old defender capable of shining at right-back and centre-half, caught Jurgen Klopp’s eye in pre-season and could be rewarded with a first-team debut for the club he joined from Dungannon United in 2019.
According to the Liverpool Echo, Bradley is in contention to feature on the right-hand side of Klopp’s four-man back line.
Neco Williams would probably have got the nod but for an ill-timed injury that will keep the Wales international out of contention.
That leaves Bradley to do Klopp, Liverpool and the whole of Northern Ireland proud as he looks to end a wait that has lasted almost 70 years.
