Liverpool have released the first images of Cody Gakpo taking part in a session at the AXA Training Centre.
The Netherlands international is yet to make his debut for the Reds following a £35m move from PSV Eindhoven, although he seems ready to take part in the FA Cup clash against Wolves this Saturday.
However, Gakpo did appear to take a painful one in training.
What’s the story?
Well, the 23-year-old could be seen stood next to Ibrahima Konate as Jürgen Klopp gathered his troops around.
Gakpo was also spotted pushing against Darwin Nunez during the pre-session stretches, while the likes of Andy Robertson and Mohamed Salah can be seen partaking in a drill next to the Dutchman.
As aforesaid, Liverpool’s new No.18 also appears to take a painful one, as the ball seemingly catches him in the nether regions.

Liverpool are often struck by injury problems – Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota are both currently sidelined, for example – although Gakpo is fit and ready to play on Saturday, as things stand.
In our view, Liverpool fans should be very excited to see him in action.
Gakpo could save Liverpool
We know that some Liverpool fans are still desperate to see a midfielder arrive, although if one is not signed, Gakpo has the talent to cover the cracks for a few months.
In truth, the Dutchman has been one of the most efficient footballers in Europe so far this season.
Remarkably, Gakpo scored 13 goals and assisted a further 17 in just 24 appearances for PSV Eindhoven before moving to Liverpool.
30 goal involvements in just 24 outings is phenomenal – Gakpo also scored three goals in five games at the World Cup.
That is an exquisite return, and if he can settle quickly at Anfield, the Dutchman could salvage Liverpool’s season.
