Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte has told Football.London that Ivan Perisic struggled in the first half against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Perisic started for Tottenham in their Premier League game against Wolves in North London today.

The former Inter Milan left-back was deployed as a left wing-back against Bruno Lage’s side.

The Croatian provided the assist for Tottenham and England international striker Harry Kane’s goal in the second half.

Spurs won the game 1-0.

Tottenham head coach Conte believes that Perisic struggled in the first half, but the former Chelsea and Inter Milan boss was pleased with his display after the beak.

Antonio Conte on Ivan Perisic for Tottenham Hotspur v Wolverhampton Wanderers

Conte told Football.London about Perisic: “He struggled in the first half, with the rest of the team he improved a lot. I have seen the Ivan Perisic I know from inter. When we were together at Inter.

“For us he is very important because we are talking about a player with a great experience. A player that won a lot in his past, has played in an important team. He can bring experience.”

The Tottenham boss added: “First half he struggled, second half he improved a lot. Now I want to see him in the same way – in the first half the same as the second half like the rest of the team.”

Encouraging display

In our view, Ivan Perisic played well for Tottenham Hotspur against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Spurs were not particularly great against Wolves, but the North London club got the job done in the end.

Perisic did make a slow start to the match, but he grew into the game and really stepped it in the second half.

The left wing-back provided a brilliant cross for Kane before the break and made a stunning tackle on the edge of the Tottenham box in the second period.
