Joshveer Shergill has thanked Leeds United after joining Solihull Moors on a permanent deal.
Shergill spent two years on Leeds’ books after his 2018 move from Walsall – which made him the very first Marcelo Bielsa-era signing at Elland Road – but never achieved a first-team appearance.
And the 18-year-old’s move down four divisions should increase his chances of playing regular, senior football.
In returning to his native West Midlands, Shergill also reunites with Jimmy Shan, the Solihull coach he worked with at West Bromwich Albion.
Posting on Twitter earlier on Friday, Shergill wrote:
Shergill had Barry Douglas, Stuart Dallas, Ezgjan Alioski and Leif Davis ahead of him at Leeds.
And his position is one that could yet be strengthened after the Whites’ promotion back to the Premier League.

Bielsa’s side have already been linked with a move for the Croatian defender Josko Gvardiol, who can play in both centre- and left-back roles.
Leeds have already strengthened at both the heart of their defence and in attack, through the acquisitions of Robin Koch and Rodrigo.
