Joe Ledley has told The Scottish Sun he ‘firmly’ believes Aaron Ramsey should still be with Juventus after the midfielder sealed a deadline day loan transfer to Rangers on Monday.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst has brought Ramsey back to the UK two-and-a-half-years after leaving England for Italy. The midfielder exited London for Turin in 2019 on a £400k-a-week contract following Arsenal electing against offering the Wales international a new deal.
Rangers will pay a fraction of his gross salary and also hold an option to buy Ramsey, The Sun note. But Van Bronckhorst has told Sky Sports the 71-cap star will not make his debut when the Ibrox natives visit Glasgow rivals Celtic in the Old Firm derby on Wednesday.

Ramsey trained with Rangers for the first time on Tuesday, but missed sessions at Juventus before his temporary transfer. The 31-year-old has also not played for the Serie A side since September, when making only his fifth appearance of the season so far in all competitions.
Ledley does not think Juventus loanee Ramsey should be playing for Rangers
Ramsey’s former Wales teammate Ledley does not believe the Juventus loanee should be playing for Rangers, though. The former Celtic star instead feels the midfielder should still be playing for the Bianconeri, as he has the skill to improve Massimiliano Allegri’s side.
“He is in his 30s and I’m sure he just wants to get out on to the pitch as much as possible,” Ledley said. “I still firmly believe Aaron Ramsey should be playing in that Juventus team.
“I’ve seen them a few times and feel he would put a lot of improvement into that side and squad. I don’t know what has happened behind the scenes, he hasn’t told me about that. I just know he needed to play football.”

Ledley strengthened his argument for Ramsey still being a top-class player with his recent Wales performances. The retired international notes how the Juventus loanee stepped up without Gareth Bale to inspire results against the Czech Republic, Estonia and Belgium.
“Aaron was just unbelievable,” Ledley added. “He hadn’t even been playing regular football at the time and yet he was still box-to-box. He scored in the matches and was up and down the pitch. His work-rate, creating chances – he just never stops.”
Ramsey scored Wales’ opener in a 2-2 draw with the Czech Republic before assisting in a 1-0 win over Estonia. He then scored twice to open and stretch their lead in a 5-1 win over Belarus. While he pulled the strings without an end result in their 1-1 draw with Belgium.
