Fiorentina boss Vincenzo Italiano has dismissed the rumours linking Nicolas Gonzalez with a move to Leicester City.
Renowned transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio had reported that Leicester had made a £30 million offer to sign Gonzalez.
Furthermore, Di Marzio had stated that Fiorentina were considering whether to accept the offer from the Foxes or keep one of their most prized assets at the club.
Interestingly, it has been stated that Tottenham were considering joining the race to sign Leicester-linked Nicolas Gonzalez in 2021, with Fabio Paratici holding the forward in high regard.
Leicester City most certainly need to add a left-winger like Gonzalez to their ranks, despite Harvey Barnes being in terrific touch.
Apart from Barnes, Brendan Rodgers’ side lack another wide forward who can take on his man and score goals, with Marc Albrighton never being that type of a player and Ayoze Perez continuing to underwhelm.
As a result, one can see why Leicester aim to prise Nicolas Gonzalez away from Fiorentina imminently.
But the club’s manager seems to have dismissed all the transfer speculation once and for all.
Fiorentina boss dismisses Nicolas Gonzalez to Leicester rumours

Fiorentina boss Vincenzo Italiano has shut down the links, suggesting Nicolas Gonzalez was headed to Leicester City.
“There is a value in Fiorentina. But I think they [Nicolas Gonzalez to Leicester speculation] are just rumours.”
“Today, I saw Nico with a great desire to return to condition [after injury]; he’s pushing hard in training.”
“I’ve never opened up other discussions, the only intention is to have Gonzalez of last year back”, the Fiorentina boss said, as quoted by Tuttomercatoweb.
Nicolas Gonzalez could be a risky signing for the Foxes
As suggested by Fiorentina boss Vincenzo Italiano, the Leicester-linked Nicolas Gonzalez has struggled to replicate his class from last season during this campaign.
Largely, the reason why Gonzalez has not been at his very best is due to constant injury troubles.
However, it does remain a risk for a mediocre Leicester side to expect Nicolas Gonzalez, who is currently out of form to hit the ground running instantly, regardless of the Fiorentina boss denying the rumours.
