Umar Sadiq has been linked with a €30million move to Manchester City this summer – and Rangers fans have been left utterly gobsmacked.
The Nigerian striker made four appearances for Rangers during a shambolic loan stint in Glasgow but has impressed in Spain over the last 12 months with 22 goals from 43 games for Almeria.
That has led to a number of clubs casting their eye over the ex-Roma youngster, with City reportedly set to sign him and immediately send him on loan to ESTAC Troyes in France.
The former Rangers striker has a €60million release clause but Almeria are reportedly ‘demanding’ half of that to let the striker go as Man City look for a long-term successor to Sergio Aguero.
Spartak Moscow, Eintracht Frankfurt, Sevilla and Villareal have all been linked with moves for the striker but the chance to join City is one he’d likely find impossible to turn down.
Rangers fans couldn’t believe their eyes when they saw Sadiq mentioned as a possible target for Man City, with his dive against Aberdeen at Hampden still fresh in the memory.
