Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to react after Alex Mowatt was named Players’ Player of the Season at Barnsley for his efforts this term.

The Leeds academy graduate has been exceptional for the Tykes this season, as they get set to fight for a place in the Premier League.

Amazingly, Valérien Ismaël has guided Barnsley to fifth in the Championship.

Ismaël also oversaw a stunning 12-game unbeaten run in the league, which included nine wins.

They will now battle alongside Swansea, Bournemouth and Brentford for a place in England’s top-flight.

The former Leeds man – who is Barnsley’s captain – has been the driving force behind this incredible season for the Tykes.
